Delivering Flip and Flop
Ok lets see if I can get this all in one post or if it will take me months LOL! Well when I first found out I was pregnant, my first action was to meet with anasthesia and figure out what we were going to do about an epidural! You see, I am allergic to pretty much all narcotics and delivery with Taylor was not ok, I even broke a tooth. So around 8 months we met, made a plan and called it good. So I thought! Ok, well I went to my last doctor app. (12th)where i was dilated to a 3 and he stripped my membranes (yeah that was good times)! With Taylor I had to have it done twice. That day they went ahead and sched me for induction on Wed the 20th, which he thught I would be in before. So Friday comes and I have so much back labor I thought I was going to die! I was in so much pain and contractions were good. So much so I called my mom in Fresno and said this has to be it you should prob started traveling. Yeah nothing in life comes so easy for my :) I get to the hospital and I am still a 3! WHAT! I walk for an hour or so and nothing so to home I go. I was so bummed! Well now my mom and mother in law are in town but no one seems to think I would last long. Even the nurse said maybe Ill see you later tonight or tomorrow. So goes the next few days till Wed. at 6am. My doctor does not show up till 9 am and in walks anasthesia too. Oh bad news on your pain chart. Our office got flooded and your file was destroyed! SERIOUSLY?! Its 2008 for the love of God and you only have 1 paper file? YEP! This is Loma Linda people come on. So now they are back to trying to remember my file and put a game plan on. Next, PITOCIN!!!! It was started slow since I could not get an epidural so we spent hours on this!! I mean hours! Things went well. At 3 they broke my water and I was dilated to a 3 1/2 I think, not happy I know that. At 5 oclock I was still at a 5. I think at 7 oclock I was still at 5 while in meantime pit was continueing to be upped. I cant recall exactly the time but I know dilation was not speedy. Finally the dr said if at 10:00pm if no progression than he was going to do a c section. Contractions were hitting hard and I was so sure I was more. The anasthesiologis kept coming in and giving me some boluses of some great stuff but it only lasted 10 minutes and the toxicity level was an issue so we used as little in case of c section. Well my amazing nurse says hey lets drop the legs of the bed and do sitting position. Boy does gravity work. Man did those bad boy contractions hit. I had lidocaine going through my epidural, which was only numbing my right side so it was pretty useless. I finally got some Stadol (love that stuff) meanwhile, my epidural kept itching so bad. After one more round of the wonder drug I started to get a rash and so they gave me some benadryl. Needless to say I was high as a kite but could feel the pain and it hurt like a mother!!! Then BAM it was time to push. I was so ready and there was no holding back. So here I am high like nobodies business and they start wheeling me into the OR. All I remember is awake one minute out the next awake one sec. It was nuts! So now I am on the table and and Angel appeared,,,, it was Omar the anasthesiologist :) Oh how I love that man (sorry Nick) He had the best stuff. It was all good from there. I think I pushed Jordan out in like 5 or so pushes. Then they broke Alexis's water and she was born 8 minutes later. I think I pushed like 3 or so times. It all kind of fuzzy LOL!! I do remember seeing the space monkey everytime I closed my eyes. Ok so there it is in a nutshell! I'm sure there is more but I am typing like a madwoman and its taken me a couple of days to get this done and I'm not checking my spelling or grammar!!!

Donel-
Your delivery story is amazing! Praise the Lord for two healthy baby girls! You are amazing delivering both without a c-section! I KNOW you are incredibly busy- but if you have a moment- feel free to call or email someone who's been there with twin infants!
