Fear Vs Fear

How many times have you done your best not to offend someone? Whether it be minding what you say, how you act, or paying attention when someone is talking? We try so hard at times not to offend people, but we could care less if we offend our Lord! Do we care half as much if our actions, speech, or merely nodding off while we pray offends God? I know I am guilty just as much as the next. Where is our fear of God? Not the fear that makes one want to turn and run, but HOLY FEAR that makes us give respect and honor! The kind of fear that draws us near! So many of us get that Jesus is our father, but we forget that He is God and we lack the respect that needs to be given! Psalms 25:14 "Friendship with the Lord is reserved for those who fear Him. With them He shares the secrets of His covenant". I love the quote by John White " While we must never on the onehand lose the freedom to enter boldly and joyfully by faith into God's presence during our lives on earth, we must also learn to revere God in our relationship with Him..... intimacy cannot occur without respect."
